LGBTIQ ADVISORY COMMITTEE
the LGBTIQ Advisory Committee was formed in April of 2014 as a response to the States Strategic Social Inclusion Strategy a South Australian Government commitment to strengthening its capacity to address the issues affecting the LGBTIQ communities on the Eyre Peninsula.
The key aim of the Strategy is to raise the profile of the LGBTIQ communities in South Australia and provide a document for organisations, state and non-for profit to provide more inclusive service delivery for all South Australians.
The key objectives of the LGBTIQ Advisory Committee are;

The key objectives of the LGBTIQ Advisory Committee are;
- Give voice to the local EP LGBTIQ community and discuss any issues that may be of importance.
- Support and Advocate for the LGBTIQ community, local organisations, agencies and State Government.
- Identify an ongoing engagement strategy with the LGBTIQ communities on the Eyre Peninsula.
The key aim of the LGBTIQ Advisory Committee will be to provide advice from the LGBTIQ community on council policies, programs and services as they relate to LGBTIQ issues. We are also working towards;
- To enable LGBTIQ people to participate fully and safely in culturally inclusive services and programs and achieve equitable outcomes
- To support State Government Departments and local Non-For Profit organisations and agencies to include a focus on LGBTIQ people when developing and implementing policies and strategies
- To respond to and alleviate levels of discrimination experienced by LGBTIQ people
